Upon arriving in Buenos Aires, I was drawn to the city’s bustling energy. Wandering the streets, I admired the Baroque-style buildings juxtaposed with modern skyscrapers. I visited the Pink Palace (Palacio Rosada), feeling the weight of its political history.

Gabriel invited me to visit the city’s renowned art museum. So, we took a bus to our destination, an art museum. I had intended to bring back a poster as a souvenir, but I had no space in my backpack for a large-sized one since I would be visiting many places next. As we continued to explore the city, dark clouds gathered overhead, and soon enough, the rain started pouring down. To seek shelter, we ducked into a restaurant and leisurely enjoyed lunch together. Everything was satisfying amidst the steaming Argentine dishes, and reminiscing about us running to escape the rain was quite comical.

I saw many people holding banners, shouting slogans, expressing their desire for social justice and political change.

This parade also deepened my understanding of the vibrant social, cultural, and political life of Buenos Aires.

In Buenos Aires, I also tried my hand at buying ingredients from local markets and cooking an authentic Argentine steak. I heard that the markets here offer many fresh ingredients at relatively low prices, so I decided to give it a try.

I visited the local market and saw shelves filled with a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats. Especially the steaks, there were so many types that I felt overwhelmed. After some comparison, I found steaks at a small butcher’s shop that were very cheap and looked good in quality. So, without hesitation, I bought some thick steaks and returned to the hostel.

I strolled along the paths, through lush greenery, occasionally seeing people picnicking or strolling leisurely on the grass.

In the parks of Buenos Aires, I felt the harmonious coexistence of the city and nature. I deeply enjoyed the time spent strolling in these beautiful parks, which became one of the most unforgettable experiences of my trip to Buenos Aires.

Finally, I bought a boat ticket a day in advance to set sail for Uruguay, continuing my journey through South America. In the capital city of Montevideo, Uruguay, I continued to explore this charming and historic city, experiencing the diversity and charm of the South American continent.
